I’m a performing arts professional and collaborative pianist focused on effective live event management, and reinforcing the structures to make that happen. Whether the work happens in an office, at a special event, in conversation with patrons or on stage, I always go in with a cooperative mindset to best contribute to a project’s success.
Working in development and non-profit operations, I know the importance of capacity-building in the non-profit performing arts field. Having experienced capacity issues as a performer, arts patron, and staff member, I understand that growing an arts organization’s impact requires more than just a good show—it depends on supporting the growth of the community around the organization by enabling arts administrators to work effectively with the community and react to their needs.
I am also pursuing a Master of Business Administration to strengthen my knowledge base so I can most effectively support under-resourced artists and arts organizations, and work with business leaders to advocate for the utility of the performing arts.

Major Gifts and Campaign Manager

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater
I support Arena Stage's capital campaign by engaging patrons to invest in the provocative, exhilarating theater and groundbreaking educational programs for all ages that Arena provides to nearly 300,000 audience members and 20,000 young people each year.
I served as the inaugural managing director for a 4-year-old non-profit with an annual budget under $500,000, managing external relations for the organization, including the organization’s box office, fundraising efforts (individual, corporate and foundation donor relations), and partnerships development. During my tenure, APO earned a capacity building grant from DCTV valued between $30-50k in support of building the organization's media content and strategy. I also spearheaded the evaluation and implementation of new systems to increase organization’s capacity, including but not limited to a database implementation project and brand solidification efforts in advance of APO’s 5th Season (September 2019-May 2020).
I developed technology and procedures around the donor cultivation process, managed the PatronManager donor/ticketing database including contributions and gifts, served as the liaison to The Washington Ballet's (TWB) Jeté Society - an affinity group for you professionals who support TWB - and assisted at main stage performances, special events and high-profile functions throughout the company's season.
I transitioned from seasonal to full-time employment at APAP in April of 2016, continuing many of the tasks assigned as a seasonal employee but deepening my work over time. I supported the director of finance and operations beyond operations management, receiving training in the organization's CRM and developing ways to manage and track donations reporting for 90 board members and board alumni. I also provided more board support for our quarterly board meetings, arranging catering, hotel bookings, A/V, room setup, conference calls and document/docket preparation.
At the conference, I managed the VIP conference registration process, continued to manage on-site registration volunteers and also assisted at special events put on by the conference management.
I joined APAP's staff after a successful internship, transitioning from the conference department to support the executive and operations teams. In this new role, I provided daily phone and email customer service from our D.C. main office to prospective members and conference attendees, acted as office manager, and supported work around the board of directors and VIP conference attendees.
At the organization's APAP|NYC 2016 annual conference in New York City, I supervised a rotating team of 12+ volunteers providing conference registration support to attendees as they arrived onsite. I was also able to fulfill student programming I developed during my summer internship, and present two sessions at the conference providing professional development tailored to student attendees.
